My 87yo dad Victor Omololu Olunloyo is currently the Balogun of Oyo and was also the Osi Balogun of Oyo. Daddy and Kabiyesi go way back from when he was Commissioner for local Govt and chieftaincy affairs and crowned Adeyemi. I will show you history with pictures

#RIPAlaafin Kabiyesi #Ikubabayeye Lamidi Adeyemi was the LONGEST serving ALAAFIN of Oyo empire 52yrs. He is survived by several family members including his wives the Oloris (senior wives) & Ayabas (junior wives) and many children first and second generation twins and triplets

#RIPAlaafin LEARN HISTORY: Biggest question of the day. Don’t be forward. Ask questions. My father made it possible for Adeyemi to become King in 1970. It was a tough fight. Olunloyo crowned Lamidi Adeyemi under Gen Adeyinka Adebayo

#RIPAlaafin In 1982 Oba Lamidi Adeyemi installed my dad as Osi Balogun of Oyo. I was 18yo and witnessed this monumental event. Here my dad and mom after the ceremony. They were preparing to run for Governor and First Lady of Oyo state🇳🇬 the next year 1983.

#RIPAlaafin Later in 2012 the King installed my dad Omololu Olunloyo as Balogun of Oyo which he is till today. The Balogun is the ceremonial Head of the Kings Army.”
