One Dead, Seven Injured in Tesla Cybertruck Explosion Outside Trump Hotel; FBI Investigates

Las Vegas, NV — A Tesla Cybertruck explosion outside the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas claimed one life and left seven others injured on New Year’s Day, prompting an investigation by the FBI.

Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill stated that the incident occurred when the Cybertruck approached the hotel’s main entrance. “Smoke began emanating from the vehicle before an explosion occurred,” McMahill said during a press briefing.

The driver of the Cybertruck, who remains unidentified, was killed in the explosion. Authorities described the injuries sustained by the seven survivors as minor.

Investigators have yet to determine the cause of the explosion but expect to provide more details within 24 to 48 hours. “At this time, there is no indication of an ongoing threat to the public,” McMahill added, though he noted that precautions were being taken due to recent concerns following a terrorist attack in New Orleans.

Guests staying at the Trump International Hotel were temporarily relocated to Resorts World Las Vegas following the explosion, NBC-3 Las Vegas reported.

The FBI’s involvement underscores the seriousness of the investigation as authorities work to piece together what led to the tragic event.

Further updates are expected as the investigation progresses.
